Today again after a long time some bike exploring around Kranjska Gora. I park under the bike park and ride on the bike trail to Podkoren, where I leave the trail and ride through the village to the main road towards Korensko sedlo. Although not planned, I decide to first climb to the former border crossing. There I just turn around and descend back, but only to the junction where I turn left onto bike path no.8 which crosses the southern slopes towards Tromeja, as originally planned. The path rises moderately all the time, welcome were especially the occasional shady parts, and there were quite a few at the end. I follow the road to the junction with the one from Rateče, here starts the steepest part which peaks just below the summit. At the top there were quite a few visitors, mostly from Austrian direction. After a short break descent to Rateče, ride through the village, cross the main road and go to see the ski jumps in Planica. Huge crowd here too. Skipped Tamar today and so return to Kranjska Gora on one of the nicest bike trails which will soon need repairs. Ride to Jasna, where the lake surroundings are nicely arranged (piers, floats, bridges...). Surprised by the crowd enjoying the sun and apparently Kranjska Gora folks got a beach again. The bravest even swam in the lake. Return to start where I finish with well-deserved hop drink and coffee

We too first time at Tromeja. Started cloudy, at the top it partially cleared, both our and the Austrian hut closed. Met two hikers and four cyclists. Views so-so.....good tour for stretching.

On our side there is no hut. That's an RTV transmitter. Nice mountain greeting.

You're right, the hut under Tromeja is in very bad condition when we passed by (all neglected). But at the top I heard a local say that sometimes they serve beer up here.

Nine years ago I went past the Tromeja mountain hut with family, I even have a stamp PD Tromeja 1145m, they served us coffee. Four years ago everything was locked and already visibly abandoned. Pity it's decaying, I think the building was a former border post.

I think the hut at Tromeja didn't get permission to operate because access to the hut (road) is not cadastrally arranged, maybe not even entered in the land register.
