Yesterday's day promised a lot and it was so. Matjaž earned his vacation and a little before eight we headed towards Sovatna. On his suggestion, at about 1700 meters we turned right off the path into a cold and damp gully. After seven minutes of steep scree we spotted a wall on the right that we have to overcome if we want the shortcut to the desired peak. Due to cold fingers, wet rocks, high friability, slightly wrong direction and also emša, I barely managed the short part before the exit. Matjaž handled it cat-like. At the exit like in another world: bright, warm, nice grass, only fingers needed about a quarter hour to warm up. The continuation was very simple, we hit the direction exactly and soon the summit appeared, confirmed by numerous altimeters. Hiking maps mention two alternatives, and there are two. 2154 and 2173 are actually one above the other, both on the ridge edge and clearly visible from Vrata. On the forum ''zaplana.net'', someone in 2006 with attached photo completely shot in the dark and if reading this, please delete it so it doesn't mislead. All the time we continued strictly along the ridge with constant view to Vrata, difficulty nowhere reaches II. Of course we also stepped on Spodnji Stenar in between, before enjoying a snack on the summit. Except for two ladies, no other visitors, from the air a paraglider greeted us who with bold maneuvers put on a real show for us. To the car we descended via marked path.
