Hello, in October 2008 I hiked the whole 651 with a friend from Chiout di Puppe to Grego hut to check the path condition. It was a real adventure just to find the path start in Chiout; after 45 minutes of searching we saw where, because of an old rock slide, it's hard to cross the river near the old power plant (some 200 meters ahead from Chiout village, right along goes a white road) and then on old markings into the forest and further ahead. The area is very wild and real troubles were to get markings and here and there the right path between grass and fallen trees. Then crossing an exposed stony slide near Granvalt stream (we didn't even get where path 619 starts in that area) and hard ahead crossing small "adrenaline bridge" (will it hold our weight or not?), to forestry road as you saw still a bunch of troubles with marking, slides, trees etc. We walked almost 7 hours to Grego hut; because there would be huge work for repair and terrain is quite crumbly and after every strong rain stone slides fall we won't renew whole path 651. Maybe could renew part 651 from junction path 640 (because narrow bridge crossed river last storm totally wiped it and now you have to go through the stream if you plan to bivouac Cividale and via ferrata Norina it would be necessary to renew this part 651) to Grego hut and that already would bring quite a lot of work (hard to get proper helpers). I'll see what we can solve with Commission hiking paths FJK because in Dunje-Dogna valley due to bad terrain we have other hiking paths buried and damaged (I must one day jump to check path 652 because from area Plan dai Spadovai it leads to saddle Foran de la Grave and towards bivouac Stuparich; they told me it's at start in Dunje valley quite buried with stones-slide). Nice greeting and nice journey I wish all who write to forum, thanks for all welcome info condition hiking paths CAI in FJK, Alessio-CAI TARVISIO.
