I saw when they crossed Velike pode, I didn't go up because it was very windy, but I met two in shorts, temperatures close to minus, otherwise nice tour....did the repeat today when it was calm and nicely warm

We two also met two guys in shorts ....some just think it's as warm at 2500 as in the valley..or something else warms them

ksena, well I don't know, but if you reached that bench, you climbed over Gamsov skret, because if you go along the path over Žmavčarje you come directly to the bivouac under Skuta.

yes I wrote it that way too...over Gamsov skret to the bivouac under Grintovec...in between we sat on that bench...on the way back we descended from Skuta to Pode and then to the bivouac under Skuta, continued over Žmavčarje to the valley.

Oh ... like that, then I goofed, read with understanding ..., that means you went over KOgel, I wanted to do that once - but we missed at the start ...
What should we watch out for?

Down at the start, go on the left road (right Žmavčarji) past the tree with a wooden sign saying Kokrsko sedlo. Keep straight, the road gets narrower and turns into a hiking path, then you see it ahead
Forgot to mention one part of this path over Gamsov skret is demanding, needs some climbing, just one peg at the start.... then when a bit higher there is a cable.

Yes, we went right of Koglova stena, apparently many people miss the path there, but it's well visible. A bit of unproblematic climbing, also along the cable and another walk on steep grass, and you're at the bench, then follow your nose right towards Grintovec

As much as has been written about this Gamsov skret ... Fact is, the 'authentic' ledge still goes past overhang with chamois droppings and is objectively still very demanding (steep, scree, narrow, exposed, unprotected). Passage with cable added later and much easier. Finding this 'real' ledge not entirely easy either (heard many stories), although visible path leads under it (soon cross to right edge, where real gully for ascent past skret shows). Well, given many climbers struggle even finding path start from valley ...

As Volk said, authentic ledge is unprotected and pretty tricky. Secured path you see below. But even start from valley was quite funny. Cheers.

We were four and the only visitors today. But we also observed someone on Grintovec who was shading himself under a cloud on the summit for a while  .

Ejti, Pika,
while some poke around for flowers, others do real tours. Congrats to the team. While enjoying your pics, I remembered how years ago I first searched for this great path at the start below, but repeats were of course easier.
