Val Romana - Moriška krnica (Alpe Moritsch)

The tour from last week was without a summit, but so enticing that it deserves its place on the list of hikes. The Remšendol valley isn't often mentioned on this portal anyway, and it's not just the beautiful view of the sharp peak of Monte Bucher, but also a really interesting scree field that offers more and more magnificent views as you walk there.

We started at the parking lot, which was completely empty in the morning hours. We continued along the Rio Blanco stream, whose beginnings form under its notch between Monte Bucher and Ruša. If you want to go there, you have to leave the marked path to Gamsji dol, where you also catch its waterfalls. Well, we turned left soon at the start of the scree field onto a forest path past two climbing areas and thus missed some nice views, but got a view to Vršič and V. Grintavec above Vraška škrbina. In the bed of the Torer stream we finally realized we had to go elsewhere to reach the marked path and found it shortly higher up. At the junction we turned left and via the shady path through the forest reached the bed of the Torer stream again, which higher up creates a beautiful waterfall, but the path doesn't go right past it. You cross the stream and head into the steep slope, higher up on your path you spot the hunter's hut on the right, which is worth going to as the views from there are also enticing and a bit different. But it pulled us further into the cirque, surrounded by beautiful walls of Bukovnik, Malih špic, Visoke špice, Skale and B. Bucherja. Looking back you catch Rabeljske špice, Ojsternig and more. During the ascent of course you admire the mighty ridge to the left above you from Šeneka all the way to Kope, whose summit you don't see but sense.
Here was the spot for admiring and identifying peaks and notches that reach quite high into the mountains. The most attractive was the notch Sedelce or Forcella Val Romana, located between Visoka špica and Skala. Igor wrote somewhere that you climb to it via a gully with II degree.

We returned the same path, but with the difference that we stepped onto the scree field already at the start, continued on it but kept looking back at the mountains in whose embrace we were. At the end we also went to Rabeljsko jezero, which is quite dried up at this time. We'll come back to Remšendol, as quite a few options remain opennasmeh.

Hello, today I was on path 511 instead because we are renovating (right of picture no. 9); I had to close path 519 because further in Alpe Moritsch it is damaged in some places and we need to install protection so now it is passable like an alpinistic path (in that case I recommend rope with you because almost at the end of the path before junction with 515 in one part you go like cat on all 4), are markings still visible? visible so you don't stray to hunter's hut? years or years ago Tržacani marked path straight up that brook before h.hut and then got actual real old route thru scrub.

alessio, markings well visible, the branch to hunter's hut I wouldn't notice if not looking for it. Since we knew the hut exists, we were watchful looking right and spotted it. Path to it quite overgrown. No markings in streambed noticed. Here attaching one pic of that streambed further steeply. We thought maybe possible straight up it, but decided better return to the path we left.

thanks for welcome info, that hunter's hut 19 years ago we protected and covered the roof with rubber tarp from old truck, in November month 8 people dragged up the snowy path eekthis super heavy material (then couple years ago they covered with sheet metal cuz brought by helicopter: tonguenasmeh, that day on return to valley we learned of death of our friendmrk pogled A.Busettini (fell in central Italy on Gran Sasso peaks) cuz couple years before he conquered 8000er Cho Oyu, year after we named bivouac Tarvisio at Sagherza/Žagace saddle with his name; sorry if I accidentally messed up such story.

Thanks alessio, everything you say is interestingnasmeh. Otherwise we learn nothing from these parts. We noticed a little path that from the hunter's hut was visible right in the opposite direction from our arrival. Where does that one lead?

2061alessio, you didn't mix anything up, quite the opposite, you taught us whom the bivouac visited by Slovenian hikers and climbers is named after. Thank you.

that opposite one is very likely hunter's for hunters, once a local told me that in time of last century after 2nd world war up there in summer they sent sheep and goats to pasture, up they pulled them with rope eek and in autumn brought them down home to barn; interesting would be to go from Moriska cirque over saddle Sedelce /forcella Valromana and then to hut at Mangart, no markings, years ago wife and sister of former A.Busettini did this crossing, upwards go direction right gully between boulders and scree/rubble, then left on grass and old pegs (h 1.30 from Moriska cirque, h 4.00 from Remšendol valley), look on Tabacco map 019 old edition(on new erasedzmeden), direction small black dots.

Alessio, on the first picture that hunter's path probably leads towards Gamsji dol or towards Bucher. Is that correct?
Thanks in advance.

It seems not, the hunter's path ends somewhere around therezmeden, to the big Bucher you need to go from the saddle Sedelce h 0.40 (so it says in the "holy book" AlpiGiulie - author Gino Buscaini).
