Velika Planina - Our Lady of the Snow

I started quite low down, Črna pri Kamniku at 480m. There I joined Marjan and Nadja from Kamnik. At Krivčevo we turned onto the gravel road over Šunce, which climbs quite a lot shorter to Kranjski Rak. The last slope before Rak was quite steep, so we went a bit on foot there. The weather was completely clear in the morning, in the afternoon it started blowing on the top plateau of Velika Planina and fog also appeared at Gradišče. I jumped to Marija Snežna, the two waited for me at the renovated Jarški dom with a sip of red, which I also got on the way back. To the chapel it was 17km from the valley and about 3 hours of ascent. Today there was a goulash fiesta on Velika Planina with quite a few hikers, cyclists only a few dozen. For the descent we chose the other side via Pl. Kisovec and thus nicely spiced up the sausage. Even further from Volovjeka there were still quite a few km of nice descent on asphalt, which somewhat spoiled the speed with tailwind. Great tour that can also be done in winter when the trail is already packed with snow. nasmeh
