Oh! Since I'll be in a big hurry, I'd like to drive the car (Clio!) as high as possible... beyond Volovjek. I'm wondering up to where it's still possible to drive with the mentioned car or where you recommend I start to have as little walking as possible to Gradišče. thanks and LP

You can reach Gradišče by cable car. By car: 1. From Kamnik we drive to Stahovica where we reach a junction of two roads. Left goes to Kamniška Bistrica valley, ours straight towards Črnivec. We follow the quite winding road almost to Črnivec pass. A few hundred meters before the pass a steep road branches sharply left to Kranjski rak. The road then takes us to the refreshment hut on Kranjski rak, just a few meters further to the junction. We turn left towards Velika planina. The road then takes us to the next junction where we turn right (left Kisovec). The road then takes us to the large Ušivec parking lot under Velika planina where we park. 2. From Styrian side we first drive to Mozirje and follow the road towards Logarska dolina. In Luče village we turn left towards Kamnik. We follow this road to Volovjek pass (Kranjski rak). Here is a junction where we turn right towards Velika planina. The road then takes us to the next junction where we turn right (left Kisovec). The road then takes us to the large Ušivec parking lot under Velika planina where we park.

forgot to mention... how safe is it to leave the car e.g. at Ušivec or Pl. Kisovec for about 2 days???

we left the car at pl.Kisovec without worry,.... but Nežika warned us about mirrors, which should be turned inwards as cows like to smash them,... how true that is I don't know we were also warned about proper parking, as one shouldn't park everywhere, and also police on horses were up there checking nicely and regular visitors

hi, I'm interested how much time it takes to walk from Kisovca to Mala planina and then on to Velika? and how demanding would the tour be for a pregnant woman, if walking really slowly, moderately etc.? well, hope someone has experience. thanks, best.

depends how pregnant this pregnant woman is. how much stamina she has, I recommend driving to the quiet valley (at least I think, I'll check later) and leave the car at the ramp and then continue on foot along the path or across the ski slope on the pasture. I'd say it's safer.

thanks for the reply. pregnant just under 4 months, walks to the old castle in Kamnik weekly, sometimes more often, and walks a lot ... also walked up from Primož, but now wouldn't experiment too much, and we're looking for the easiest walking path to the top, because the gondola is not really that.

Lately I see on both parking lots at Kranjski Rak a notice that the parking is intended only for guests of the guesthouse. I'm interested in how parking at Kranjski Rak is.

Pregnancy is not an illness and there's no reason she couldn't walk for hours too if she feels good. I know a pregnant woman who was at Mangart at the end of the 5th month of pregnancy. Of course that was already 15 years ago. So you two just happily walk or all three .
