Today, ideal conditions for ascents to peaks above Jezerci. Everything indicates they will be like this until the end of the week. I haven't had such before. I recommend starting from Rudno polje at least at 6.00, better one hour earlier. For ascent to Ablanca it's good to have two ice axes. (see picture).
More about the tour in my online public album, when I edit it.

By planina Konjščice and on to Studorski preval, where I climb to Ablanca, descend and climb to Mali Draški vrh, return via Viševnik. It was snowing in between, no wind, better than sun which would soften the snow and prevent ascent to MDV. It was crusting a bit all the time on the VDV side, there are large snow masses that could still release, I saw one. On Viševnik I was alone for a long time in peace watching the avalanche and the play of clouds and snowflakes.nasmeh

LG, what are the conditions in your opinion for ascent to VDV from Jezerca?

In the coming days, just go ahead with winter gear, easier path past Konjščice there on the slightly steep path already very little snow, no problem passing, harder is return over Srenjski preval to Viševnik, except that gully before Jezerca, but it has some cracks (SW side). Avalanches are there, before Srenjski preval I heard one on the right side at the same time, and on the left and on the pass. During the day sun does its thing.

Has anyone been walking around here? What are the conditions, is winter gear still needed?

Today I climbed four Pokljuka peaks: Ablanca, VDV, MDV and Viševnik. Start at Rudno polje and for warm-up I choose the lower path to pl Konjšca where I haven't been. From the mountain pasture up to Slemena ridge and along the ridge to Ablanca. Slemena ridge is nicely passable except two larger bumps and between snow patches the path to Ablanca base is visible, some trouble with snow remains filling passages and complicating orientation, but no big issues!
Nice descent from Ablanca to Studorski preval where there's still plenty of snow. From pass along ridge to VDV and MDV. SE slopes of VDV still enviably covered with snow so descent more like sliding than walking. Lower path under MDV not fully passable yet as crossed by snowfield with unpredictable crack.. it's just a matter of time! From MDV descent to Srenski preval and along ridge to Viševnik, which surprisingly, in sunny windless conditions, had no visitors. Descent from Viševnik quick as just enough slush for sliding on boots. Snow tongues extend to upper station of lower lift.
Winter gear still needed, at least ice axe.. at certain spots especially crossing steep snowfields crampons useful too, though I didn't put them on, it's good for psyche to have them handy. Anyway nice ridge tour worth every step, with all mischief took me good 6h.. and as if someone knew it's not enough at Rudno polje I miss my down jacket left elsewhere than on Viševnik summit so instead of beer in valley another ascent to Viševnik. zmedenmrk pogledjezenzavijanje z očmimežikanjenasmehnasmehnasmeh

On Sunday we with two Belgraders and compatriot climbed to Viševnik, then over Srenski preval under MDV to VDV and over Studorski preval also to Ablanca. Snow was rotten all the way but at least no crusting. Still we put on crampons already above ski slope so steps slid less. In open we felt very strong wind gusts too. Southwest wind forecasted but we found it often backs. MDV slope mostly bare at start, towards saddle with VDV more and more snow. To VDV direct from saddle choosing nicest passages. Triglav mostly in clouds, showed only when we were on VDV top. Descent to Studorski preval along ridge abandoned due too strong wind and descended south slope which was a bit calmer. At end climbed also Ablanca and pleasantly tired returned to Rudno polje. Adding photos with Serbian comment by my photographer Nebojša.
