The hike to Medvejk will start at the border crossing Fernetiči. At the border crossing we turn towards Repentabor -it. Monrupino. After the overpass we cross the truck terminal. Approximately after 400m from the overpass there follows a slight left curve and immediately after it on the right side is a small roadside parking lot, which serves as the starting point of the path to Veliki Medvejk. Here carefully cross the road (the curve is not visible) and find the little path. This is path no. 3. The path is excellently marked throughout and well trodden. The path runs through rocky terrain, but there are only about 150 m of ascents. In a very slow—retirement pace, we will reach the panoramic peak in less than an hour. Before the summit under the path we spot extensive ruins of abandoned barracks with a large parking lot. From here to the right the concreted scarp of the Veliki Medvejk summit is already visible. On the summit of Medvejk there are several military ruins from past times. Medvejk served as an extraordinary observation post over the valley far around. On the summit a mini observation tower awaits us. Under the tower even a box for entries and a stamp.

We return by the same path to the starting point.

The path also goes through the Orlek settlement and leads to Fernetiči. From Fernetiči then to Veliki Medvejk. This path is well described here. If we want to return back to Sežana it will be well over five hours long.
