Same thing happened to me on the way to Mojstrovka via Hanzova - quite a large group of people with a guide, all maniacally clipping in and extremely slow, about 20 of us piled up behind them like idiots waiting for their whole group to get up the path. At one point almost at the end of the cable they managed to move aside so the rest could pass. Disaster, ruined my whole vibe. Those people weren't prepared for Hanzova and had no business there and it's sad that guides drag them up just for the pay, ruining the experience for others. Same with these ferratas - would it kill them to let one obviously better prepared person pass?

Problem with ferratas which are more popular year by year is just that many people who go into ferrata don't even know their abilities let alone choose a suitable tour for themselves...Guides who take about 50-80€ per person they get over the ferrata of course work on quantity and don't care at that moment how long they'll drag their clients over the ferrata...

Good thing there are no jams on Triglav cool

Otherwise such completely unprepared are still better off going with a guide than alone. That would be the real recipe for disaster. But I agree, it's frustrating when you get a group ahead that doesn't move anywhere. That's why I basically avoid more crowded paths, sport ferratas are anyway outside "my philosophy".

On via ferratas you can't expect anything else. It's like in amusement parks.
On protected paths it'll soon be the same because of unnecessary SVK use. You advocated it yourselves, now you're complaining. nasmeh

Drago, I fully agree with you on SVK. Most annoying are questions if I need SVK on this path. Haven't used it on any of our (very) difficult protected paths, nor carried it, yet climbed them all. Got over cables and pegs without trouble or heavy struggling. My opinion: if you need SVK on our (very) difficult protected paths (feratas different category!), better think twice if the path suits you or is too demanding.

If a rock hits your hand or shoulder from above and you're clipped in, you'll maybe just be injured; otherwise, it'll pull you off the wall. Think about it. A self-belay kit is good even for the brave ones.

Vzpon, what if a rock hits me where I'm not clipped in, where there's no cable? Because on our (very) difficult protected paths it's secured where needed, i.e. at the most critical spots, in between you just walk freely. Or even there not always velik nasmeh

If even a rope team in the wall lets the faster rope team pass ahead, it can be done on gentler paths, secured or not. Sooner or later you find a spot where you safely step aside by the path edge, hug the wall..., say go ahead, thanks, no problem, and everyone is happy to some extent velik nasmehvelik nasmehvelik nasmeh
