Via ferratas in the Otztal valley

This week we did some low bouldering in the above-mentioned valley and tasted the climbing pleasure of granite. When our arms stretched to our knees, in the evening we went to relax a bit on the nearby via ferratas. In the valley itself there are at least 5, attractively routed, nicely marked and even better equipped. Difficulties go up to D/E, but even the "B's" can be very steep. Anyway they are well secured and there are plenty of footholds too. No crowds on the via ferratas themselves, but they were still quite visited. And apparently visits spread over the whole day.

That via ferrata you climbed is called Rainhard Schiestel klettersteig 190m difficulty D...In that area north of Innsbruck there is Kaiser Max klettersteig 280m E, definitely one of the most difficult ferratas in Tyrol...Nice pics...

Otherwise for such a ferrata some experience on sports ferratas is needed?

We went through three ferratas, pics are from all three too. Experience is of course very desirable, you can see from the pics it's a bit different than a path to Šmarna gora

I myself have already climbed some ferratas alone in Tyrol, haven't seen any but I see Rainhard Schiestel is a typical sports ferrata with nice verticals...

Hello, I'm interested if the via ferrata difficulty ratings in Austria are the same as with us. Which would be the easier via ferratas in this valley? Regards. Alenka

Primoza, biggest thanks for the reply. I looked, super lots of ferratas... I'm still a beginner at via ferratas, I'm for easier via ferratas. I've climbed some in Slovenia and see Austria has plenty ferratas. Have you maybe also climbed some easier ones here up to C, say, similar to Otmarjeva ferrata.
