Vimperk 448m

From our area

The hut on Vimperk next to St. Nicholas chapel has been sitting lonely in the fence for quite some time. In these days with new owner it has come alive again or even more. Removed fence and children's playgrounds put in its place is quite a good invitation for young families and others too, so that for a good quarter hour walk to Vimperk children will have play opportunity in safe place by forest clearing, adults good service where sour milk is not missing either. Hut on Vimperk is open Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday.

This message no longer holds true!!
Haven't found the hut open for a long time and it's deserted. New addition is only the tallest spruce which is probably over 30m high.

geppo@ just today I admired this sky-protruding "wonder" from the circular path from Braslovče, and I didn't understand what novelty it is; yes, it would be more joyful if they "revived" the Hut on Vimperk again, once an extremely popular Sunday excursion spot for locals; but alas zavijanje z očmi; lp

Life events led us to the beautiful valley of green gold, surrounded by numerous hills and hillocks... Vimperk of course belongs to the latter and a walk up to it is really pleasant, especially now when spring flowers greet us almost at every step. We of course extended our enjoyment of nature to Dobrič and returned to the starting point by road.
We will surely climb Gora Oljka in the future, perhaps during the flowering of fruit trees, which make an even more magical world above Polzela. nasmeh
Vimperk, as seen from Polzela.1
Meadows are already greening...2
...and also blooming.3
I even squealed... ha ha ha4
View towards Polzela5
It's good that the trees are bare, since the sun was softening the cold eastern wind.6
Towards the top, where St. Nicholas church stands7
Good thing the bell tower isn't taller, it'd be hard to get it fully in the frame, as there's little space on the south side8
And some history9

And further in the direction of Gora Oljke.12

Spring crocus15
In the forest we encounter it at every step16
Even here people with lots of good will produce homemade schnapps.17
And how beautiful it will be during flowering time.18
Work of diligent hands.19
In front of us Gora Oljka20

We know her well...24

Another one for my joy...26
Dren will also bloom....27
The sun goes behind the mountain...28
Today a painful memory for us..29
Thank you, spring, for a beautiful day...30

@jprim, thanks. Quite a lot of flowers already... of course it's not the blooming Dleskovška plateau that we're both waiting for. velik nasmehmežikanje

Yes, Dleskovška, every year I'm around there about 4 times.

This artificial tree, which is actually part of a larger
network of smaller broadband transmitters,
is not the only one in the Lower Savinja Valley! The first was on Vimperk, but there is
an identical one in the little forest under
the hamlet Briše near Vransko! Does anyone have such camouflaged
antennas elsewhere in Slovenia? Best regards to all!

For building fitness, I've used the nearby hill (Vimperk) several times in the last month and then continued towards G.O. In the cave cadastre I noticed that there are three shafts right near my hikes. Turned aside and searched a few times - unsuccessfully. A local cave expert showed them to me today in the hurricane S wind. Two really hidden and question if I would have found them?

I found this but it doesn't count because you can't enter. Too narrow entrance2

The path from Vimperk to Gora Oljka is beautiful and interesting, if you just step a bit off the marked route (read, if you have a guide!). Shafts, stone huts, ivy hearts...

Vimperk is always a running hill for me, but still very popular locally. Recently the summit is partially cleared with nice views towards central Slovenia (Vransko, Trojane). Maybe idea to make something like nearby Hom (reopened hut?, clearing right nearby for sitting and chatting?). We'll see. lp
