Some have already asked on the forum about the passability of this path, many probably thinking about it. In short I can confirm: Kot - Vrbanovi špici via Rekarjeva - Dom Valentina Staniča - Kot bypassing Peklo is passable without winter gear. Snow still doesn't mind the date and persists on slopes below the hut jezen

, but snowfields aren't dangerous. No snow on Rekarjeva path for a long time. Helmet and camera mandatory here nasmeh

. Via ferrata kit useful for the unsure. Otherwise pictures say more than ..... words.

Kindir, here's how it is. From Lengarjev rovt in Kota (parking) over Vrbanovi spici to Stanic about 5.5 hours leisurely walk with lots of photo stops. Sure can be faster, but with such weather and great views it made no sense. Hut open, warden very friendly, visitors few now. This weekend expecting larger group and hut will be full.

On Saturday 16.07.010 I also "checked" mežikanje

the path from Kota to Vrbanove spici. Path is ok, mostly along ridge, so helmet and great caution mandatory gear. Descent to Stanic and back to start. If you want to avoid crowds these summer days, this path right choice, just leave fear of heights at home nasmeh

Yesterday my husband and I did the path and I must say it's one of the most beautiful in the Julian Alps for me personally. Wonderful views all around, well secured path, exposed in places, compact rock, so you can just enjoy the whole path. In the morning we had to overtake quite a few hikers on the way to Stanič Hut, there was quite a crowd, then from the junction for Vrbanove špice to the top we met only one group. Really nice tour, recommend, helmet mandatory of course.

Yesterday we did this path, it's really excellently laid out, protections flawless, just one peg missing at one key spot. A bit above the big rock we watched a helicopter rescue. I agree with the previous about the helmet, definitely recommend via ferrata kit. If not on this path, then I don't know where one should use it. From Stanič hut we returned to Vrata via the valley behind Cmir, descent took us 3 hours, probably faster possible, especially for those who release brakes on scree.
