When I wake up the sun is out, it's already 11 o'clock and of course a winter afternoon walk would be nice. I drive to Mlinč (turnoff to Mangart saddle road), then past Mangart Pasture and through Čez Dren to Stoža Peak. There's a huge amount of snow and it's very varied from southern, crusty, wet, even some powder and windblown on top. Movement is only possible with skis. But, as always, winter surprises with its beauty this time too, and that counts for something.
