hi does anyone have experience with this model Wave Ascend 7 12FW Mizuno 8KN-27254 Cascadia 8 13SS Brooks 1101331D673 I need them for VARIOUS terrain (mix of gravel, asphalt, forest). Only for forest, rocky surfaces I use inov. But I need shoe with asphalt combination, there's always some 1-3 km you have to run on asphalt (inov has too hard sole for that) please help thanks best Dejan

Both can handle that quite satisfactorily too, the first is a bit softer, perhaps I'd highlight Mizuno's Cabracan model here, worth trying Asics Trabucco too. Cascadia is a bit stiffer, perhaps the most responsive on asphalt of all mentioned models. Ultimately though with them on asphalt sections you won't run 3.20 min/km.

I just thoroughly tested Wave Ascend 7. Mostly I ran on exactly that terrain you mention (asphalt-gravel-forest-asphalt). Grip is top in dry, on grass even in wet. Not for heavy mud of course, but they seemed quite solid on asphalt to me. I'd add that foot grip was top already on the first kilometer without blisters, which I'm not used to with "trail" shoes. But let me warn about a fairly big drawback. Maybe it's coincidence, but during another run I slightly "caught" thorns. After that the side logo started tearing off + the mesh fraying, from which I conclude they don't hold up long on completely unkempt terrain.

Maybe try Salomon shoes too, just now some new trail models have come out. Price is Salomon-like, not for my pocket, but friend says they are actually for ALL possible terrains and quality more than makes up for the price Among these new models is Snowcross, which is high and covers the ankle like a mountain boot, of course softer. Supposed to be waterproof like all GTXs. Of lighter models you have plenty anyway and soon there will be tests of running shoes at public recreation spots (in Lj e.g. at PST). I've used such tests myself multiple times and sometimes decided differently based on them than planned. Definitely advise you, if deciding to buy anything, test it first, if not otherwise in the store (which you'll do anyway). Well now strip me to the bone because I didn't stick to the forum topic!

thanks for the advice. Salomon unfortunately doesn't suit me, nothing special. Salomon Snowcross however they compare to La Sportiva Crossover

...at La Sportiva they copied from Saucony, the latter from Mizuno (their such model can't be bought in Europe, made only for Japanese market), all have a common model - cross-country ski boots.
