Thanks to two nature conservationists, we were in White Carniola on Saturday. Apparently there's no special section on hribi.net at all, but it's under Posavsko hribovje and Dolenjska? So far I've been in White Carniola only on the southernmost Slovenian hiking trail, from Radenci to Vinica and twice to Mirna gora. So finally back in White Carniola. First we went to the Semič Museum House, nicely renovated, arranged. Mrs. Alenka guided us excellently, told us a lot about life in White Carniola, history, people, geology, animals, fruit growing, viticulture, natural sights and important people of the place. Very interesting, worth seeing, thanks to Alenka, and to the parish priest for the description of the renovation of St. Stephen's church and chapel. This time we saw Dr. Derganc's educational garden and walked part of the trail from Lebica to Krupa, visited the karst cave Judovska hiša. No time for Mirna gora, Semenič, Smuk this time. But we had lunch at the Butala farm. Given many marked cycling trails, hospitality of the White Carniolans and accessibility by train, we can return for several more days.... Thanks from all to all for the effort and kindness.
