When we were approaching Kofce with our dog (on a leash) today, a big black dog rushed from the mountain hut, attacked ours, tore its ear and some skin, we chased it away with hiking poles. Despite the commotion, no one showed up at the hut at first, but when I noticed movement behind the door, a young lady appeared and spun a tale that some dog comes from the valley, attacks someone and heads towards Šija, but all the time we heard dog whining from behind the closed doors of the kennel right there. And she said she happens to have exactly that kind of dog as our attacker was.

Based on what's written, I won't defend anyone, but their pup is a really spoiled kid. I doubt it'd attack anyone.

Yet some on this forum still say that warnings about dog culture, leashing... are just fears and prejudices.
@tracetour: relations between dogs themselves can be way more complicated than we think. It can be totally friendly to people, everyone can pet it, kids can jump on it,... but when it meets just one 'wrong' dog, even once in life it can be 'oops'!

The mentioned young lady texted me that they found the owner of the stray dog and even wrote his name.
I sincerely apologize for the hasty anger,
I couldn't hold back when our furry one was all bloody.
