Hello women, girls and ladies! It's already happened to me 2x that the backpack chafed me badly: first time I had a blister on my back, second time it chafed the seam under the armpit on the hiking shirt. The backpack isn't to blame, because it was a different one each time. From the first case I learned that when I carry a backpack, I wear a top, so there's no clasp on the back, but the hiking shirt shouldn't have a seam where the backpack strap goes. Does this still happen to anyone else?

What if you got an escort to carry it for you?

Hm, I hadn't even thought of that. Not such a bad idea... Come on, I'm seriously asking

Maybe it would help to pack the backpack properly, instructions are available from the manufacturer, and every mountaineering shop should be able to advise. The shoulder straps should be wide enough and padded, a hip belt is essential which must be properly tightened when carrying, important is the adjustment of the straps so that the hips carry the backpack not the shoulders, also important is the chest strap, which I use only when climbing via ferratas and ski touring. Of course, you also need to watch that clothing has no edges, buckles, zippers and buttons that press on body parts. Once I met a hiker whose backpack was swinging under his butt, he had a whole bunch of cans inside pulling him back, when I adjusted the straps to his build he couldn't stop thanking me, and carrying the backpack became a pleasure for him.

I usually carry a backpack for two and from my own experience I tell you igorzlodej is 100% right

IgorZlodej, thanks for the answer! Maybe it was really because I had the hip belt a bit looser. It wasn't completely loose, but it didn't fit me perfectly either. I'll pay more attention next time. What about those backpacks meant for women: are they actually better suited for the female body, or do they paint the backpack pink, add a little flower and that's it?

I think the second one, that they are fancier... Best to try several models and find out what fits your body best. Women's bodies are different too, for me the selewa 42 with mesh is great, which distances contact with the back and air circulates nicely. Before the hike I adjust the belts because it also depends on how much I'm dressed, I change if needed during the hike. Nice walking and light-comfy backpack

I think the point of women's rucksacks is that they have a shorter back (besides the colors of course...).
