Žamboh - in Zasavje is a hill located in the ridge on the right bank of the Sava River, between Pasjek (turnoff to Polšnik) and Renke. From west to east it has several less pronounced peaks; the first is Špeglovec, followed by three measured elevation points: at the chapel of St. Lawrence (698 m a.s.l.), Žamboh (738 m a.s.l.) and the highest peak Kleviška Špica (791 m a.s.l.). From the southern side - from the village of Tepe or from Polšnik - the hill shows its friendlier side and gentler approaches; the northern ridges, which drop all the way to the Sava River, are much steeper, rocky and interesting also for scrambling. From the northern sides there are no signs or markings, and the terrain can be described as demanding pathless terrain. The presented route (on the map and in pictures) starts by the main road from the Sava River upwards, on the northern side, in Pasjek at approx. 231 m a.s.l. At the top of the gentle and forested ridge we visit the idyllic chapel of St. Lawrence and the indistinct peak of Žamboh (which lie opposite each other, each on the other side of the flat saddle); then we descend to the southern side and around Špeglovec, somehow in the middle of the hill along forest paths running along the layers, return to the starting point. For such a circular trip, including a little practice in climbing over a nice rocky outlier in the central ridge above the Blejak stream, we need approx. 3 - 4 hours. The route should be taken in dry weather, best early spring or late autumn, when there are no high grasses and for the views, when there are no more leaves on the trees.
