Not only beautiful views from Bavški Grintavec, but also from the lower-lying Velika vrata above Pl. Zapotok.
Yesterday wonderfully spent day with morning coffee in Kranjska Gora, then via Vršič road and multiple stops to admire views into Zadnja Trento. On the whole path we met only one couple just leaving the hut on the alpine pasture, and otherwise it seemed to me there aren't many admirers of golden-yellow larches walking.
Maybe that's even better, peace and quiet everywhere.
In short, a magical day!

Tour without summit. Zapoden - Planina Zapotok. We continued under walls of Bavški Grintavec towards Zagorelec. Didn't get there. At 1900 m we decide not to go further, as passages were dangerous for slipping. Turn around and continue to Velika vrata under Zapotoški vrh. Sun awaited us there. Stayed a while in November mildness. Descend via ascent route to start. Still walked about 13-15 km.
In the shade we start walking. 1

Pity you didn't choose from Zapotok towards Zagorelec the unmarked path to former pastures Za Razorcem, where it joins the marked path Špiček - Kanja; conditions there surely better (at least from upper photos drier conditions).

Given that we've hiked there in dry conditions several times, we didn't imagine snow could be a problem, and there wasn't much anyway. More demanding was passage over rocks, as there's no other way. They were icy and no choice but to turn back. We looked at that part too but didn't decide. Preferred the other option, as there was enough time to Velika vrata. When you're there you see real conditions. From afar it looks different. nasmeh
