Today in wonderful sunny weather from Bresternica to Žavcarjev Peak. Path dry, no wind, full of sweet chestnuts and mushrooms. Greetings! Lajči

Today I was on Kobansko, more precisely at Sv. Duh on Ostrim Vrh (907 m), photo from Kobansko I'll attach to this thread, since Žavcarjev vrh is relatively close.

To mountain hut below Žavcarjev vrh (right below summit) nice by bike from Kungota direction, works with road bike too, though last 2 km gravel (good gravel), checked all yesterday. After total 100 km biking Laško really great.

Today morning to Žavcarjev vrh. Start at Šiker. Over stream, path very muddy torn from logging, even today motorbikes revving up there. Otherwise not too muddy, no snow, bit view to Austrian hills hidden in clouds. Alone on top, many at hut and thick fog. Descent same path. Nice morning outing.

Žavcarjev vrh...for clearing mind and stretching body 12.2.

Today morning decided for Žavcarjev vrh...again...yeah hate Pohorje for crowds... well this slope... met no one on path...except one roe deer...so upper part virgin...trampling sure...snow below 20 cm...above 30 cm ... dry but warming...getting awkward...hehe... snowed to top...down not.... middle road part gravel very slippery...below ice...plow did its... body wanted gymnastic tricks several times...luckily calmed...nice morning...ended shoveling snow at parents...yeah stretch body up top too...hehe...Recommend...take microspikes for ice...no slipping...hehe nasmeh

Snails on Žavcar! Very suitable hike for those who overslept winter "bear-style", otherwise still wintery on the path, quite some people at the hut.
Recommended for spring warm-up

Today I decided on Žavcarjev Peak for a short concluding tour this year. Decision was right again as elsewhere the weather was already raining. So starting point Bresternica near Maribor on the path starting at Jelovec. Mostly on road but that's nice too. On return I met quite some people. How it will be next year hm.... easy tours, demanding and very hard tours (read-off-trail).... plans are.

quick ascent. We went early and were at the top at nine, then to the hut. After short refreshment back the same path. Car left in Šober.

Path at start icy, higher no snow, just mud in places. Snow starts again on the ridge. Very nice path, I always hike it in winter time.

With me were friends Cviko, Jež and Robi.

Today fitness hike to Žavcarjev vrh even though weather and conditions for higher mountains too but still super. When you hike the path after long time....

25.07. Žavcarjev vrh

Start from Šober, up past Strnad, Kočnik and Vodopivec... Pace was quite fast as we were at the top in less than an hour... snack in the hut and then back the same path
With me were friend Cviko and Filip.

Yesterday (11.03.2018) again at Žavcarjev Peak which I visit every year end February beginning March. This time just me...
Path at start to Strnad very muddy and wet, then after entering forest snowy... at one place snow slide but no problem.
But snow probably won't last much longer...

Yesterday 17.4. I set off from Bresternica near Maribor to Žavcarjev Peak. Weather was more gloomy but quite pleasant for hiking. Path is otherwise without features, just a bit before the hut in the forest muddy due to timber hauling. On top some light snow. Met quite a few hikers.

Yesterday, that is Monday -04.08.2025, my colleague Jani and I did a recce for my Monday hikers. In two weeks I'll take the Monday hikers to the hut on Žavčarjev Peak. First time I was here. When you open this peak here three accesses are offered. Of course we explored a bit and chose the most suitable for the group of retirees. We had wonderful weather. On return you lose your nerves on the motorway-impenetrable jams, so we got off the motorway in between and went for donuts, and at donuts there was a queue too.
