The hiking trail from Žovnek Castle to Čreta on Dobrovlje is impassable on the section before the hunting lodge under Grmada due to a fallen spruce. The detour is dangerous due to difficult terrain and threatening trunk. Yesterday a ten-year-old child was injured there. Luckily only minor, but it could have been much worse. If PD members cannot clear the trail, at least put a warning sign at the castle to inform hikers the trail is not passable.

Not so bad. There is a spruce across the path, you can go around it or crawl under it. Both me and my son are well over 180cm, and we went under it without effort. The spruce wasn't to blame for the injury.

Does anyone know if the road to the parking lot under Žovneški grad is asphalted?

I think not. I park a bit earlier at the electrical transformer (space for one car). I don't park there because it's not asphalted. I have a nice circular route to Dobrovlje and then return past the castle to the car. From the castle to the parking where I park there is a path. The annoying log that cut the path is now sawn and no longer an obstacle on the path! The markers had trouble because no one dared to saw the log. They expected the big root would slide down the slope during sawing and sweep everything before it. I am 1.88m and crawled under every time without trouble, only muddy knees. - reply to "janezsav" comment above lp

Geppo, thanks for reply. I was actually looking for some parking for ascent to Čreta, so I'll borrow your parking spot sometime in future.
