Žužemberk - castle viewing

This year I first went to the open doors of Žužemberk castle. Its interior surprised me, it is large. From the outside you can't guess its size. The castle history is described on panels. The castle survived centuries and lived with many generations. Everyone knows what happened to it during WWII. The Allies gave it the final blow by bombing it. After the war the castle was a sorry sight of its former glory. It wasn't exactly a pile of ruins, but almost demolished in upper parts. Reconstruction took years and that's what awaits us today. Cultural events take place in it.
