Camino Vadiniense - unknown path to Santiago

Camino Vadiniense is probably the least known, by far the least marked and the most road-based of all four that we connected into a whole this year. The start should be in Potes as continuation of Camino Lebaniego, but the first marker for it inexplicably appears only 65 km later in the town of Riano . Then markers mysteriously disappear again and appear only every few kilometers. Even locals don't know it very well and without GPS track on the first day of walking Camino Vadiniense I would definitely question the direction's correctness. But it is a logical continuation of Camino Lebaniego ( … Klik ) and apart from the mentioned issues I have nothing to criticize. Landscape is beautiful, people friendly, prices more than affordable . Later markers are frequent enough that continuation is no longer in question. Albergues are few, but other lodgings available at moderate prices. Also plenty of shops and bars. We were never hungry or thirsty. Didn't meet almost anyone until the end of Camino Vadiniense in Puente de Villarente . There we joined Camino Frances for a few dozen km to our stay in Leon. Camino Frances is a story of its own and for us after days of solitude a small shock. Crowds of pilgrims thronged the path, staring absentmindedly ahead and barely greeting back. Completely different world. Tons of slanted-eyed of all sorts and they are champs at group photos and selfies. Apparently confirmed Compostela gives them advantage in job search. Anyway, we were glad for the new, much less visited path next day, Camino del Salvador ( … Klik ). More info added to photo comments, additional explanations via PM or email (in profile).
