Jesenovec - Gladki vrh (Ratitovec) (via Razor)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Škofja Loka, and then we continue driving towards Železniki and forward towards Zali Log. Soon after Železniki (still before Zali Log), we will get to a smaller crossroad, where right over the bridge road in hamlet Jesenovec branches off. On the bridge is also a little larger mountain signpost for Ratitovec. We park on the other side of bridge, on an appropriate place by the confluence of the stream Plenšak and river Selščica (Selška Sora).

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the asphalt road, that is gently ascending by the stream Plenšak. After few 10 meters, blazes point us to the right between two houses, behind which, the path very steeply ascends over a short grassy slope. The path soon passes into the forest, where it turns to the left and is then ascending diagonally on a relatively steep and mainly in wet for slipping dangerous slope. Poorly beaten and with leaves covered path, higher crosses two gullies, through which the passage is because of ruined path quite difficult and consequently also exposed to slipping. The path ahead for some time crosses steep slopes, and then they for some time flatten a little. The path which is still relatively steeply ascending, higher brings us to the next little harder passage, where on a slightly exposed ledge we cross rocky ridge. After that, the path turns to the right and a little further starts ascending even steeper. Higher, the path turns to the left and considerably flattens, and in doing so it crosses the last exposed spot. Further, moderately steep path quickly brings us to a bad forest road, and past the hunting cottage, which we bypass on the right side it brings us on a wide meadows, from which a nice view opens up on Ratitovec. Next follows a short descent and the path brings us to an asphalt road, on which we then in few minutes ascend to the church of Our Lady of Mercy on Prtovč.
From the church, we continue on the road, and past NOB monument it brings us to a marked crossing. We continue slightly right in the direction of Ratitovec over Razor (left Ratitovec over Poden) on the road which past houses brings us to wide and well-beaten path.
The marked path goes immediately in the forest and starts ascending diagonally over relatively steep slopes. The path higher crosses rough forest road, only a little after that marked path from the hunting cottage joins from the right. We continue in the direction of Ratitovec on a gently sloping path, which then crosses a steep and in snow dangerous slopes for an avalanche. Next, the path turns a little towards the left and starts ascending steeper. The steepness soon decreases and the path brings us on a smaller plain named Razor, where there is also a crossing.
We continue straight (right Kosmati vrh, mountain pasture Klom and Krekova koča over Vratca) on a wide path, which soon turns to the left and starts ascending steeply. The path ahead crosses a short lane of a forest and then it brings us on panoramic grassy slopes of Ratitovec. Here the path flattens, turns a little towards the right and with nice views it brings us to hut Krekova koča na Ratitovcu.
From the mountain hut, we continue right on a little steeper path in the direction of Gladki vrh. This increasingly panoramic path, we then follow all the way to Gladki vrh, and we reach it after less than 5 minutes of additional walking. Jesenovec - Prtovč 1:30, Prtovč - Krekova koča 1:30, Krekova koča - Gladki vrh 5 minutes.
