Access to starting point:
We leave the highway Ljubljana - Koper at the exit Divača and follow the road further in the direction of the settlements Lokev and Lipica. The road, which is somewhat flat, quickly brings us to the settlement Lokev. We continue in the direction of Lipica and soon reach the crossroad, where the road continues to the right in the direction of the settlement Lipica. Soon after the crossroad we park, somewhere up to the place where there are hiking signposts.
Route description:
At the hiking signposts we continue right in the direction of Vilenica Cave. Karst terrain, the path is undulating. Along the path there is also a karst abyss, pointed out by an inscription on a stone. Soon in the area named Žlebi a path from Lipica joins from the left. We continue on a somewhat wider path, partly a cart track, and soon reach the asphalt road Lokev - Sežana. We cross the road and continue in the direction of the destination. Road signage in the form of a direction signpost and blazes help along the easily followed path/road and in the next few meters we reach the destination, i.e., the point of Vilenica Cave.
The total length of the path from the starting point is around 3300 meters, 55 positive altitude meters and 50 negative altitude meters.

We leave the motorway at the Divača exit. Along the main road we head towards Ljubljana and at the first junction turn left, continuing towards the village of Lokev and the (former) Lipica border crossing. About two kilometres after Lokev we reach the village of Škibini, here at the casino the road to Lipica branches off to the right. We continue to the entrance to the Lipica estate and park here. On the right side we see mountain trail signs. We continue along the track across the meadow and further into the forest. After about 500 metres we turn right onto the track (not straight ahead) and continue through the forest past (former) coal mines (along the path there is a shaft where it says abyss on a stone) to the second (horse) road. We cross the (horse) road and continue on a less trodden path across the pitted karst terrain to a poorer track (if we went right on it we would reach Lokev, left to the Lipica quarry), we cross it (signs on the right) and continue on the trodden path to a poorer forest path and along it to the right. After about 500 metres we reach the asphalted road Lokev - Sežana, cross it and after two hundred metres of asphalt we are at the barrier and thus the entrance to the Vilenica cave area. Use the excellent mountaineering map "Slovenska Istra, Čičarija, Brkini, Kras" PZS 2011 scale 1:50 000 The described hiking trail is excellently marked and is part of the VIA ALPINA trail!

I actually thank for the more extensive and in-depth description of the mentioned otherwise really easy path. Wrote the path after two years and some unknown things, say about the mine, horse trail... Otherwise, if I was already supplemented, the author B2 could ,,return,, also to the only added path in official descriptions to date...Lokev - Kokoš(mimo izvira Vroček) and make it a bit more ,,concrete,,. The right proverb is that you have to sweep in front of your own doorstep before ,,dumping,, in front of others...Lp

Thanks for the warning! My opinion is that the path from Lokev past the Vroček spring is correctly and sufficiently well described. It also won't hold that this is the only one I described. And neither does it hold that the photos were taken two years ago. Time really flies, but in one year or less, memory doesn't fade... True, but for correcting your (poor) description, there's no need to be offended and vent anger at me. I didn't write anything offensive anywhere, which I couldn't say about you... Unfortunately! And lots of enjoyment on the nicely maintained hiking trails of PD Sežana, which are all drawn on the excellent hiking map "Slovenska Istra, Čičarija, Brkini, Kras" 1:50 000 PZS 2011 - not on the Primorje and Kras map! I wish you! And no hard feelings!

What are you B2 doing as a ,,supervisor,, alongside the forum editors, publicly rating trail descriptions... you gave mine a poor rating. It's probably simple just like this trail and others in this karst landscape. I adapted the description level to the already described trails in this part of Slovenian territory between Krvavi Potok and Povirje. If your trail from ,,Lokve past the Vroček spring is correctly and well described,, I don't doubt it!? But your description, as I already wrote, is also simple and lacking. Regarding the hiking map, I referred to the map noted by the describer of the Lipica/Škibini - Kokoš trail. I don't use maps and don't know the differences between the mentioned maps. It's also a question whether you need a map for this trail and others in this area. The trails are really excellently marked, equipped with direction signs, and thanks to the markacists. I described the trail sometime after two years and some, probably it would be better not to!? Walked with a colleague on 27.04.2012, collected some photo material and it was ,,poured,, onto the forum with delay. Best regards
