Ambrož pod Krvavcem - Kržišče (Pokovše)

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana - Jesenice highway, take the Vodice exit, then continue driving to the first signalized intersection in Vodice, where we continue left in the direction of Cerklje na Gorenjskem and Brnik. When we arrive at the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, we continue driving in the direction of Cerklje and Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, we leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko, and continue driving slightly right onto the road in the direction of the Krvavec ski resort. Further on, we arrive at the village Grad, where signs for the settlement Ambrož pod Krvavcem direct us right onto a steep asphalt road (straight: bottom station of the cable car to Krvavec and Štefanja Gora). When the steepness on the steep road decreases a little, we arrive at an intersection, where we continue left in the direction of the settlement Ambrož pod Krvavcem (straight: settlements Ravne, Apno and Šenturška Gora). A little further, the road temporarily descends a little, then ascends through occasionally quite panoramic slopes. Higher up, we arrive at Ambrož pod Krvavcem, where near the open-doors farm pri Ambružarju there is a larger parking lot. The parking lot is intended for guests of the mentioned farm; if we ask for permission, they will almost certainly allow us to park.
B) From the Jesenice - Ljubljana highway, take the Kranj - east exit, then continue driving towards Brnik, Komenda and Mengeš. When we arrive at the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, we continue driving in the direction of Cerklje and Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, we leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko, and continue driving slightly right onto the road in the direction of the Krvavec ski resort. Further on, we arrive at the village Grad, where signs for the settlement Ambrož pod Krvavcem direct us right onto a steep asphalt road (straight: bottom station of the cable car to Krvavec and Štefanja Gora). Path description:
From the tourist farm we return to the main road, from there a few steps further we continue left onto the path in the direction of Krvavec. The path further leads us past a bed of wild garlic, higher it crosses the asphalt road. After a quite steep ascent, which mostly runs through the forest, we once again approach the road very closely or even reach it for a few steps. Immediately we continue right in the direction of the mountain pasture Jezerca and ascend gently to moderately. Quickly we reach a cart track along which we exit the forest onto the mountain pasture Jezerca, where some wooden huts stand.
Behind the huts we arrive at a small pond, behind it at the junction we continue along the upper right cart track (along the lower cart track in a few dozen steps we arrive at the parking lot on the edge of the mountain pasture Jezerca). With nice views reaching all the way to the Julian Alps, we quickly reach an unmarked junction, where we leave the marked path leading towards Kriška planina and continue the ascent along the right cart track, which further ascends transversely. The cart track along which we ascend soon turns into a footpath, along which we reach the ski run. We continue the ascent along a faint path that follows the mentioned ski run (during ski resort operation, walking on the ski slope is forbidden), higher it fades increasingly, but orientation is no problem as we always follow the path upwards. When higher we reach the upper station of the ski lift at Kržišče, we are at the forepeak, from which only a few minutes of easy walking separate us to the main summit.
