Access to starting point:
On the island of Mljet, we drive towards NP Mljet (west). We go through Polače towards Pomena, and about 1km after Polače we turn left (direction „Jezero”). After a short descent we reach the lock and the Ambulanta, where we can park on the gravel parking lot.
Entrance to NP Mljet is payable, namely 100 kuna (year 2013) per person.
Path description:
From the starting point (picture 1) the signpost (2) directs us along the asphalt road, from which the next signpost (3) directs us to the path towards Montokuc. The path reaches a trail junction after a short ascent, we continue right (left Polače). After another 200 m we reach a junction, from which a marked path to Veliki Gradac branches right, we continue straight on the apparently unmarked path.
The markings soon continue and we quickly reach a new trail junction. If we look closely at the rock on the ground, the markings direct us right. This is followed by initially very gentle, then quite steep path to the top (5). At the top there is a hut (6) and an information board (7).
