Access to starting point:
From the Bovec–Predel road at the fortress Kluže, an asphalt road branches off to the right into the Bavšica valley. We head to the mentioned road, which we follow in a moderate ascent to the parking lot in Bavšica (the parking lot is located next to the TNP sign).
Path description:
From the parking lot, we head left onto the poorer road in the direction of the sanctuary under Špička and mountain pasture Bala (right Bavški Grintavec) and follow it for less than 5 minutes to the spot where the blazes direct us left onto an initially wide footpath. The path soon narrows and brings us to a small junction, where the blazes direct us sharply right onto a gradually steeper trail. The path soon flattens and brings us to the abandoned village Logje (a few meters off the path there is drinking water).
From the village Logje we continue on the marked trail, which continues across a gentle grassy slope. Further on, the path ascends somewhat more steeply and transitions to partly rocky terrain (scree overgrown with tall grass). The path then flattens again and enters dense forest, where it continues all the way to the abandoned mountain pasture Bala.
From the mountain pasture we continue on the marked path, which then through a strip of forest brings us to the last spring along the path. Just a few dozen meters beyond the spring we notice the hunting hut Bala.
At the hunting hut we continue straight and then ascend through the forest for some time. A short ascent follows across the grassy slope (Jezerce, 1389 m) and then again ascent through the forest. When we emerge from the forest for the last time, only a short ascent remains to the indistinct saddle Prevala, 1560 m.
From the saddle, where there is also a poorly visible junction, we continue straight along the valley, while to the right a less trodden path branches off toward Vrh Osojnika. Here we first descend a few steps and then continue along the initially still very flat valley. Further on, the path becomes steeper and begins to ascend toward the saddle Čez Brežice.
On the saddle we leave the marked path and head left toward the west onto an unmarked trail. The trail initially runs along the right side of a short steep ridge. Then it turns slightly left and begins to ascend a fairly steep grassy slope. The path is quite poorly trodden, but we can still follow it with some effort. Due to the steep terrain, considerable caution is needed. In the final part the path turns right and ascends toward the ridge. Upon reaching the ridge we continue right and in a few steps reach the panoramic grassy summit.
