Bevški vrh - Veliki Modrasovec

Access to starting point:
a) Drive to Col, then follow the road towards Otlice and Predmeja. This is followed by driving across the Gora plateau, where the path leads us through several villages; when we join the road from Ajdovščina at Predmeja, go right towards the settlement of Lokve. The road ahead leads through a valley, where first to the right one of the marked paths branches off towards Golakov, a little further the road turns left and from the valley passes onto the slope. Higher up when the road turns right, drive on to about the 3.5 km road marker, where first on the left, some 50 m further also on the right, notice a suitable parking space. Nearby are mountaineering signs for Čaven and Golake.
b) Drive to Ajdovščina, then follow signs for Lokavec and Predmeja. This is followed by a fairly steep ascent along the road to Predmeja, where continue straight towards the settlement of Lokve. The road ahead leads through a valley, where first to the right one of the marked paths branches off towards Golakov, a little further the road turns left and from the valley passes onto the slope. Higher up when the road turns right, drive on to about the 3.5 km road marker, where first on the left, some 50 m further also on the right, notice a suitable parking space. Nearby are mountaineering signs for Čaven and Golake.

Route description:
On the southern side of the road we notice signs for Koča Antona Bavčerja na Čavnu (to the northern side leads the path to Iztokova koča pod Golaki), which guide us onto a trail that initially continues parallel to the road, then gradually distances itself from it. Several junctions follow, where we follow the markers, partly walking on the trail, partly on the cart track, the path leading us occasionally uphill, occasionally downhill. Although the path turns left and right multiple times, it mostly crosses the slopes to the left, after approximately one hour of walking bringing us to the road, which we reach right at the intersection.
We merely cross the road at the intersection and continue the ascent on the cart track towards Čavna. A greater number of mutually similar junctions follow, where we follow the marked cart track. Higher up, at the head of an indistinct valley, the cart track ends and we steeply ascend the trail for a short time, then reach another cart track, go left and in a few minutes ascend to a poorer road, where the marked path branches.
We continue sharply right towards Veliki Modrasovec (left Koča na Čavnu) and with the path continue along the poorer road, which a little further makes a left serpentine, then ascends to the summit of Veliki Modrasovec amid occasional views.
