Access to starting point:
Highway A1 we leave at the Ogulin exit. Through Ogulin we continue toward the settlement Vrbovsko, and at the end of the town, by the NK Dobra football field, we reach a crossroad where we continue toward Jasenak. We continue over a bridge above the river Dobra and drive a few kilometers on a winding road, then arrive in the village Bjelsko. Here we turn right and soon left towards Klek, arriving at a gravel parking lot, beside which are also signposts for Klek.
Path description:
From the starting point, we go past wooden barns to signposts for Klek. The path leads through the forest, where we cross several forest roads. Higher, the path leads us through a small meadow, at the end of which is an information board. The path then brings us into a beech forest. We walk on a wide and well-trodden path, which then moderately to steeply ascends. Higher, the path becomes more rocky, and a path from Ogulin joins from the right.
After the crossing, following a short steep ascent, we reach a bench. Behind it follow two hairpin turns. After the second zigzag, a steep ascent follows, and the path then soon flattens. The path leads us past an antenna and a welcome sign, and in a few minutes, we are at the mountain hut Klek, with a memorial plaque nearby. From the mountain hut, we continue in the direction of Klek. A gently sloping path, partly gravelly and running below cliffs, also leads us past a cave. When the path starts ascending more steeply, we reach a crossing where a path branches off to the right toward Klek, but we continue in the direction of Kamačnik and Vitunj. The path crosses the steep slopes of Klek for some time, which are dangerous for slipping when wet. After 10 minutes, we reach the ridge. The path leads us along and beside the ridge, which is steep and narrow in some parts. The path leads us over a small hill to a crossing, where we continue right in the direction of Klečica. To the left, it continues toward Kamačnik and Vitunj. The path first steeply descends to the foot of Klečica. The path is narrow and in some parts precipitous. It leads us over short rocky sections and we arrive at a small saddle below the wall. Initially, we ascend a short vertical and exposed section with the help of a steel cable. The path then turns right through a small saddle and descends slightly onto the eastern slopes of Klečica. After a few meters along the path below the wall, it brings us to a gully. With the help of a steel cable, we steeply ascend through the gully. We reach the edge, and in 3 minutes of an easier but exposed ascent, we arrive at the panoramic summit of Klečica.
