Bled (Velika Zaka) - Hotunjski vrh

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Lesce exit, then follow the signs for Bled and Bohinj. A little before the end of Bled, we leave the main road towards Bohinj and continue slightly right in the direction of the camp. After approximately 1.5 km of additional driving, we arrive at camp Bled, where at the edge of the camp we park on a paid parking lot. The parking price is 3 €/h (November 2019).
B) We drive to Bohinjska Bistrica, then continue driving towards Bled. At the beginning of Bled we go left in the direction of camp Bled. After approximately 1.5 km of additional driving, we arrive at camp Bled, where at the edge of the camp we park on a paid parking lot. The parking price is 3 €/h (November 2019).

Path description:
From the starting point, we head onto a macadam road, alongside which there are signs for Bohinjska Bela, Stan, Rčitno and Pokljuka. Initially we walk alongside camp Bled and the stream, then gradually approach the railway line, crossing to the other side through the underpass. After the underpass we go left, at the nearby marked junction we choose the right path towards Rčitno (straight ahead Bohinjska Bela). A few steps further, over the bridge we cross the stream, after the bridge we go right, following the blazes. There follows a walk through the forest, while we ascend along the cart track from which a view opens onto the torrent over which, in rainy periods, a larger waterfall falls. Here the path turns somewhat more to the left and mostly ascends transversely. Higher up we cross the torrent stream once again, where at high water levels the crossing is quite challenging, the path shortly afterwards turns right and leads us to a short panoramic section from which a fine view opens up extending from Lake Bled to the Kamnik-Savinja Alps. There follows traversing to the right, where the blazes disappear for a while, but when the cart track begins to ascend we spot them again. When somewhat higher we reach the macadam road, we follow it left (right to Bled by road), ascending moderately along it. Higher we pass the trough below the Križi, a little further the path from Bohinjska Bela joins us from the left.
We continue straight in the direction "Rčitno" and continue ascending the macadam road. Further on the road enters a valley below Strešno brdo, upon leaving the valley we move onto the slopes of Gač from where temporarily some views open onto the surrounding hills. The path ahead temporarily returns to the forest, where it also splits.
We continue slightly right onto the ascending cart track (straight to planina Rčitno - 5 minutes), which bypasses planina Rčitno on the right side. During the transverse ascent, some views temporarily open towards the aforementioned planina, the cart track soon enters dense forest, at the nearby junction we choose the right cart track, which further on is quite eroded by torrent waters. We follow the aforementioned cart track all the way to the macadam road, which we then follow to the right. Along the road we ascend easily for a few minutes, but when the road begins to descend we leave it (leave the road at the section where it starts descending, or a minute further at the ruins of the former Posavc homestead) and continue left into the forest, where after a minute or two we reach the former ski slope of the Zatrnik ski area.
We continue the ascent along the former ski slope, which turns left, then with ever finer views we arrive at the upper station of the abandoned drag lift, from where only a few dozen steps along the ridge separate us from the summit of Hotunjski vrh.
