Bohinjska Bistrica (railway station) - Grmečica waterfall

Access to starting point:
From highway Ljubljana - Jesenice we go to the exit Lesce and follow the road towards Bled and ahead towards Bohinjska Bistrica. In Bohinjska Bistrica we turn on the road Ajdovska cesta and we follow it past the church to the railway station, where we park.

Path description:
From the railway station, we walk on the road Ajdovska cesta and before the bridge over the stream Belca we turn right downwards and then already after few meters left, in doing so we follow the asphalt road which after 100 meters passes into a macadam. With a view on Ajdovski gradec (580 meters) we continue under the railway bridge (which leads over the river Sava Bohinjka) to the end of the macadam road, where there stands a house (officially this entire branch of the macadam road belongs below the road Ajdovska cesta, which is because of this the longest street in Bohinjska Bistrica. Before the house signs point us towards the waterfall Grmečica. We continue through a meadow and when we are opposite the village Lepence we cross a torrent. From there the path is for some time winding along Sava. In between there is one a little more difficult part, where the rope protects us (2 meters rocky jump). From here on we soon step on a wider cart track which takes us out of the forest on a meadow and into the village Log, through which we walk and at the end of it, we turn left on a cart track which crosses a larger meadow. A pleasant cart track path, which ahead runs through the forest, then continues along the river Sava Bohinjka, which it then avoids a little to the right. Next follows only few minutes of walking and the path will bring us to the waterfall Grmečica.

The recommended visiting time is in spring, because in the autumn on the meadows by the village Log livestock is grazing.
