Bottom station of cableway on Krvavec - Hotel Krvavec

Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana-Jesenice highway, take the Vodice exit, then continue driving to the first traffic-light intersection in Vodice, where continue left in the direction of Cerklje na Gorenjskem and Brnik. When you get to the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, continue driving in the direction of Cerklje and Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko, and continue driving slightly right on the road in the direction of the Krvavec ski resort. Park on a large well-maintained parking lot by the bottom station of the circular-cabin cable car on Krvavec.
B) From the Jesenice-Ljubljana highway, take the Kranj-East exit, then continue driving towards Brnik, Komenda and Mengeš. When you get to the main roundabout in Spodnji Brnik, continue driving in the direction of Cerklje and Krvavec ski resort. At the end of the settlement Cerklje na Gorenjskem, leave the main road which continues towards Velesovo and Visoko, and continue driving slightly right on the road in the direction of the Krvavec ski resort. Park on a large well-maintained parking lot by the bottom station of the circular-cabin cable car on Krvavec.

Path description:
From the bottom station of the circular-cabin cable car on Krvavec, we continue for a short time on the asphalt road which leads towards Štefanja Gora, but we soon leave it, because at the beginning of the left turn we continue right on a macadam road, by which we notice signs for Davovec, graveyard of NOB fighters above Davovec and Krvavec. The poorer macadam road continues along the stream Reka, and we continue through the valley to the spot where the marked path towards Davovec and Krvavec turns left. Here by the path we notice signs that cyclists can come in the opposite direction, because part of the path further runs on the route of the cycling "downhill" track. The path ahead ascends through the forest and ascends quite steeply. Higher, the path brings us to the mostly abandoned hamlet Davovec, where some houses stand. A little higher we reach the saddle Davovec, where paths from Štefanja Gora and Spodnja Kokra also join, and we continue right, initially on a cart track in the direction of the Planinski dom na Gospincu mountain hut. The quite level cart track then leads us past the NOB memorial, and the path after the memorial splits a few times in a short time. At all crossings carefully follow the blazes; the marked path soon leaves the cart track and then steeply ascends through dense forest. The ever steeper path higher brings us to a smaller vantage point, from which a view opens up on the circular-cabin cable car which runs to Krvavec. The path then returns to the forest and ascends on a path on which some touring cyclist can come in the opposite direction (there are quite a few of them; most of them have their own route, occasionally there is only one path). When we come out of the forest, the path crosses a grazing fence and then brings us to the road, which we reach by the garages of snow groomers.
Here we continue left (right: upper station of the circular-cabin cable car on Krvavec and Planinski dom na Gospincu mountain hut - 1 minute) on the road which continues alongside the summer park Krvavec, then passes into the forest, where it leads us past the adventure park. Above the adventure park we reach Penzion Tia, and behind the penzion we ascend in a few hairpin turns to Hotel Krvavec, which is located left of the macadam road.
