Most čez Jezernico - Divje jezero (northern path)

Access to starting point:
With a car:
The main road between Godovič (connection from the direction of Logatec and Planina via Kalce and Ajdovščina via Col and Črni Vrh) and Idrija (connection from Tolmin and Cerkno) we leave at the turnoff in Podroteja, approximately 2 km south of Idrija; the junction is marked with signposts for Idrijska Bela, Divje jezero, and Klavže. On the road towards Idrijska Bela we drive about 700 meters, when immediately behind the bridge over the Jezernica stream on the right we notice a smaller parking lot, where we park.

Public transport:
During summer school holidays on weekends and public holidays, a free bus is available from Idrija and Črni Vrh to the Lajšt bathing area, which also stops by the starting parking lot. Current information about the service and timetables can be found on the website of the Občina Idrija. Otherwise, the closest bus stop is by the crossing in Podroteja. From there, we can reach the starting point on foot along a road without sidewalks, but it’s more pleasant if we find the footbridge over the Idrijca river in Podroteja, turn left on the other bank onto the path Pot ob rakah, which leads from the center of Idrija. After about 700 meters, we turn left at a marked junction, which soon leads us to a footbridge over the Idrijca river; on the other side, we immediately turn left onto an asphalt road and after a few meters reach the starting parking lot.

Route description:
From the starting point at the parking lot, we step onto the bridge just beside it, cross the Jezernica, and on the other side immediately notice a turnoff to the right with several information boards about Divje jezero. A flat and hardened path from this turnoff along the right bank of the Jezernica reaches a viewpoint on the northern shore of Divje jezero after approximately 100 meters. Because the viewpoint is fenced, continuing the path toward the wall is not possible.
