Most čez Kotnico - Jelovička jama and Mihova jama

Access to starting point:
A) We drive to Kočevje, and then we continue driving towards Delnice. Before Colnarji we turn left in the direction of the castle Kostel, and through the villages Delač, Stelnik and Kostel we descend to Gorenja Žaga, where we reach the road which leads along the river Kolpa. We continue left and soon after the settlement Gorenja Žaga ends, the road makes a longer right turn, after which we already get to a smaller bridge over a usually dry riverbed of the stream Kotnica. We park in an appropriate place before the bridge.
B) From Vinica or Črnomelj we drive to Stari trg ob Kolpi, where we go left towards Prelesje. Next follows a descent towards the valley of the river Kolpa, and when we reach the road which leads along the river, we continue right. Along the river we drive almost to the beginning of the settlement Gorenja Žaga or right behind the bridge over a usually dry riverbed of the stream Kotnica on the right we notice signs for Jelovička and Mihova jama. Here on both sides of the road there is some space where we can park.

Route description:
From the starting point, we continue on a path in the direction of Jelovička jama (slightly right Mihova jama - both paths higher join in the torrent stream), where we at first walk gently through the forest on the left side of the torrent (right bank). A few minutes ahead the footpath brings us into the riverbed of a usually dry stream Kotnica, where it ends. We continue on rocks vegetated with moss, and we soon get to the foot of the wall. We continue by the wall and we quickly get to the entrance into the Jelovička jama.
Mihova jama is located a little more to the east from Jelovička jama and it has smaller entrance and it is also smaller.
Even if at the beginning we continue in the direction of Mihova jama, the footpath brings us to the same torrent.
