Celje - Miklavžev hrib (Miklavški hrib) (by road)

Access to starting point:
Celje, the third largest Slovenian town accessible from several sides. Park somewhere between the railway station and the bridge over the river Savinja in the direction of Laško. The problem could be that the parking lots are mainly paid... if you come by train, these problems naturally disappear.

Path description:
From the center of Celje or the railway station we head in the direction of Laško, where immediately after the roundabout we cross the bridge over the river Savinja. Immediately behind the bridge we turn right on the asphalt road and after a good hundred meters at the monastery we turn left on the road with the same surface uphill and this is also the beginning of the marked mountain path. After a good two hundred meters, the marked mountain path turns left while we continue on the road upwards. We easily follow the road and turn left twice further. Both crossroads are excellently marked with signposts. We soon reach the peak of Miklavški hrib, some houses and holiday cottages below the very top, while on the top the church of St. Miklavž dominates, visible far around.
