Celje - Vrunčev dom na Svetini

Access to starting point:
Celje, the third largest Slovenian city, accessible practically from several sides. Park somewhere between the railway station and the bridge over the Savinja in the direction of Laško. The problem might be that the parking lots are mainly paid... if you come by train, these problems naturally disappear.

Route description:
Beginning at the bridge over the Savinja at the sign with panoramic display of the Celje Hills. The path is in the part to the turn-off to Srebotnik the introductory part of CPP - Celje Mountain Trail. In the first part we walk on the path between the Savinja and the railway track to the confluence of the Voglajna with the Savinja river. We continue over the bridge and under the railway track to the right and further along Pelikanova pot to Stari grad.
From the castle we continue left steeply uphill past the inn and follow a well-maintained path through the settlement Osenca. From the left the path from the settlement Teharje joins us. We continue on the asphalt connection through the settlement Pečovje and follow the turn-offs mainly to the right, which are excellently marked with direction signs.
In the forest section, the mountain path from Štore named „mimo Marije“ also joins from the left. We continue along the forest road past two or three houses/holiday cottages and then again left on a somewhat narrower forest path and higher partly also a cart track. The path ascends somewhat more steeply again and on the left side there are also some steel cables, more in the function of a fence than for gripping.
We soon reach a junction: straight ahead and higher to Srebotnik, while we continue left and after about a hundred meters downhill reach the Marija chapel carved into the wall of Srebotnik. Here there is a bench, table and logbook box; after a short rest we continue uphill from the chapel on the forest path/cart track and follow the markings and direction signs to Svetina or the signs of Barbarina pot. On a larger grassy clearing there is a junction, where we continue left to Almin dom, to the right is the path to Tolsti vrh...
We follow the forest path to a junction, where the path continues right downhill to Svetina while we go straight towards Almin dom na Svetini, which is soon reached.
From Almin dom we continue eastwards and soon along a varied path; at the Ramanca junction paths from Štore through Bojanski graben and over Žlajfa join from the left.
We continue straight and soon reach an asphalt road, a settlement of houses and cottages along the road, and to the left of the path is Vrunčev dom, today the Hunting Lodge on Svetina.
