Access to starting point:
Leave the Tornyszentmiklos - Budimpešta / Budapest motorway at the Balatonvilagos exit and drive north towards Keszthely, Balatonfüred. In the settlement Balatonfüzfő turn right towards Veszprem Castle. In Veszprem go towards the place Györ and later Zirc. From here drive another ten minutes, then we will notice on the right the turn-off for the settlement Csesznek. In the place Csesznek we can leave the vehicle in the large parking lot under the ruins of Cseszneki var, or go to the street Vasut ut (first left downhill) and park there in a suitable place.
Route description:
In Vasut ut street we will notice tourist information boards and signs for Vasalt ut. Here we go left, over a small bridge and then along the forest to the foot of the cliff. We continue right and arrive at the first fixed cable. The path ahead leads through the Kömosó Szurduk gorge, where first to the left branches the path along the Ostromlok utca via ferrata, to the right the Varpanorama via ferrata, we continue to the bench.
We continue left uphill on a partially demanding path, where some caution is needed due to slippery rocks. The path quickly turns right and becomes quite steep, the surface increasingly rocky. In the last section a fixed cable assists us, at the end of the fixed cable we arrive at the top, from which a nice view opens to the east towards the Cseszneki var.
The described path is mainly used for descent, after ascent via ferratas.
