From the road Prebold - Trbovlje, in the settlement Marija Reka we go right (from the direction of Trbovlje left) on a side road in the direction of the mountain hut Dom pod Reško planino (at the crossroad there is a brown road sign with the inscription "Pod Reško planino"). On an ascending and winding road we then drive to the mountain hut, or we can also go one more hairpin turn further to the parish church, where we park.
Path description:
From the parking lot near the mountain hut we go on a marked footpath in the direction of Reška planina, Zajčeva koča and Sveta Planina (Partizanski vrh). At first, we steeply ascend and after 5 minutes we get to the church of the Assumption of Mary, where we return to the asphalt road.
A little further from the church, where there is another parking lot, from a marked crossing we continue left upwards on the asphalt road (straight uphill Reška planina), which starts ascending diagonally. Higher, we get to the information board about the geological composition of the soil, where the road flattens. Next follows a few minutes of crossing, and then we get to a marked crossing on the southwestern side of Reška planina.
We continue left downwards (right Reška planina on the ridge, vineyard cottage Šmiglova zidanica, Grajska vas and Prebold).
Next follows some occasional descent, where we first on the left bypass Jamškov vrh (811 m), and then on the right also Nacetov vrh (828 m), past individual homesteads we then get to a crossroad, where the path from Podmeja also joins.
We go right upwards and we continue walking on a somewhat wider asphalt road which leads us diagonally across the northwestern slopes of the hill Šterbenkel, higher we go also past the ski slope, and then we get to the slopes of the peak Javor. At some crossroads we follow the main road, and when we reach a somewhat bigger crossroad at the NOB monument we go left in the direction of Sveta Planina (right - nearby church of St. Lenart and Čemšeniška planina). The road further on the west side crosses the slopes of the peak Javor and brings us to a crossroad, where we continue left in the direction of Sveta planina. We continue for some time through the forest and then the road brings us to grassy slopes, from which a beautiful view opens up on the surroundings. The road ahead leads past a few houses, and then we get to a small saddle, where the footpath from Podmeja also joins. Here we continue right and after a few steps of additional walking we get to the inn on Sveta planina. From here we walk to the nearby little church, where we turn left and then after a short ascent across the grassy slope we reach the peak of Sveta planina.
