Dovje - Bela peč (above Dovje) (via Blažčeva skala)

Access to starting point:
A) We leave the Gorenjska motorway at the Jesenice west exit (Hrušica), and then continue driving towards Kranjska Gora. On the main road towards Kranjska Gora, we drive to the first turn-off towards Dovje; through the settlement, we follow the signs for Dovška Baba. After crossing the Mlinca stream, where there is an MHE (small hydropower plant), we park at a suitable place by the road, where there are also hiking signposts.
B) First, we drive to Kranjska Gora, and then continue driving towards Jesenice. We leave the main road towards Jesenice when the signs for Dovje direct us left; through the settlement, we follow the signs for Dovška Baba. After crossing the Mlinca stream, where there is an MHE (small hydropower plant), we park at a suitable place by the road, where there are also hiking signposts.

Path description:
From the starting point, we continue on the macadam road in the direction of Jesenice (left marked path to Dovška Baba). On the road, we initially ascend transversely; during the ascent, nice views of the Julian Alps occasionally open up. Higher up, the road first turns sharply left, then right. At the right bend, we leave it and continue straight onto a cart track that ascends transversely to the left; before reaching a small saddle, we turn right from it onto a beaten path that then bypasses a small, partly wooden house on the left side. The path continues through the forest, passing a feeding site for game; after crossing a stream, we go slightly left. The path then levels out temporarily before ascending an indistinct valley to a small saddle, where unmarked paths meet.
Left along the ridge, a path continues that leads higher to the road towards the Dovška Rožca pasture; straight down, the eastern path descends to the road; to the right, the path leads to Blažčeva skala.
We continue right and quickly ascend to the logbook box, bench, and cross on Blažčeva skala.
From the top, we descend to a smaller saddle, then continue along an initially poorly visible path that ascends the ridge, which soon widens into a slope. When the path reaches the slope, a traverse to the right follows; on a clearing, the path widens into a cart track. Higher up, the cart track enters the forest and joins a poorer macadam road; when we reach a wider road, we follow it left. An ascent follows on the macadam road, which passes a barrier higher up; we walk along the road to the information board "Kako varno prečiti pašnike" (How to safely cross pastures), where we continue left onto the marked path towards Dovje. We leave the marked path—which turns left and runs parallel to the road—after just a few steps and continue straight onto an unmarked path that begins to ascend towards Bela peč. This occasionally quite steep path, where extra caution is needed especially when wet, brings us higher to or along the ridge, where it levels out somewhat, and only a few minutes of walking remain to the summit.
