Access to starting point:
A) From the highway Ljubljana - Koper, we take the Brezovica exit, then continue driving on the parallel old road towards Vrhnika. A little before the inn Šipca bar we turn right into Dragomer and then immediately left towards the school, where we park.
B) From the Primorska highway we take the Vrhnika exit and continue driving on the old road towards Ljubljana. When the settlement of Log ends, behind Šipca bar we turn left into Dragomer and then immediately left towards the school, where we park. The school can be seen already from the main road, and an abandoned quarry in Strmec can also be seen.
Path description:
At the starting point, we look for a cart track which is situated by the bridge. We head onto it and immediately turn onto a steeper left logging trail, which makes a turn and we are again at a crossing. We continue right and then again left and once again right. The logging trail slowly changes into a footpath. At the end of the footpath we come again onto a logging trail, which runs from Log. We continue right. The logging trail ascends unevenly. We ignore all turn-offs to the left and right and soon we are on the overgrown secondary peak of Strmca. A gentle descent follows to a crossroad, where we can continue left to the summit of Strmca (some 10 meters) or right towards Ferjanka. A steep descent follows to a crossroad, where we continue right on a worse and somewhat overgrown logging trail and soon after left onto a somewhat overgrown footpath. Soon we come to a cart track and we are at Ferjanka, where there is an inscription box on the trunk of the tree. We join the marked path. We continue through a meadow into the forest and follow the marked path to a logging trail, where the marking directs us right and after a short descent we come to a crossroad. We continue straight (right Ferjanka on a logging trail (approach option), left Brezje pri Dobrovi). The logging trail ascends somewhat more steeply and we are already on the secondary peak of Strmca. A gentle descent follows and only two steeper ascents through Križevski boršt separate us from the top and in 10 minutes from the secondary peak we already see the sign on the top of Strmca.
