Access to starting point:
A) From the Ljubljana–Koper highway, take the Brezovica exit, then continue driving on the parallel old road towards Vrhnika. A little before the inn Šipca bar, turn right into Dragomer and immediately left towards the school, where we park.
B) From the Primorska highway, take the Vrhnika exit and continue driving on the old road towards Ljubljana. When the settlement Log ends, after Šipca bar turn left into Dragomer and then immediately left towards the school, where we park. The school is already visible from the main road, and the abandoned quarry in Strmec is also visible.
Path description:
At the starting point, look for the cart track located by the bridge. Head onto it and immediately turn onto the steeper left logging trail, which makes a bend and we are again at a junction. Continue right, then left again and right once more. The logging trail gradually turns into a footpath. At the end of the footpath, we arrive back at a logging trail leading from Log. Continue right. The logging trail ascends unevenly. Ignore all branches to the left and right and soon we are at the overgrown forepeak of Strmeca. A gentle descent follows to a junction, where we can continue left to the summit of Strmca (a few dozen meters) or right towards Ferjanka. A steep descent follows to a junction, where we continue right along a poorer and somewhat overgrown logging trail and soon after left onto a somewhat overgrown footpath. Soon we reach a cart track and we are at Ferjanka, where there is a logbook box on the trunk of a tree. Join the marked trail. Continue across the meadow into the forest and follow the marked trail to a logging trail, where the marking directs us right and after a short descent we reach a junction. Continue straight (right Ferjanka via logging trail (approach option), left Brezje pri Dobrovi). The logging trail ascends somewhat more steeply and we are already at the forepeak of Strmca. A gentle descent follows and to the top only two steeper ascents through Križevski boršt separate us, and in 10 minutes from the forepeak we already see the sign on the top of Strmca.
From the top, continue in the direction of Debeleg hrib. A shorter descent follows to a junction, where the previously mentioned trail joins us. Continue along the marked trail, which descends and ascends; in between, the trail from the Pavliček farm also joins. We arrive below a steep slope, where we can go straight up the slope or right along a level path. After 5 minutes, both paths merge and we continue to the foot of Vrhovčev grič, where at the junction we continue left and in a few steps we are on Vrhovčev grič.
