Access to starting point:
The starting point is Eagles Nest restaurant / top of Kosciuszko Express chairlift in Thredbo, Australia. Park in the designated areas.
In summer, the village is accessible only by private transport. Public transport is possible only to Jindabyne, the remaining 35 km only by school bus (if not school holidays).
Path description:
A wide track leads from the starting point. After about half a kilometer, the track reaches Merritts Creek (Merritts Creek), over which there is a bridge. Behind the bridge, the metal walkway begins, raised a few centimeters above the ground. This path leads past the Mt. Kosciuszko Lookout viewpoint. The path then descends and rises again, reaching an indistinct saddle, descends slightly again, and rises along the source of the Snowy River to reach a viewpoint slightly above Lake Cootapatamba.
