Path description:
A wide track starts at the top of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift. After half a kilometer, the track reaches a bridge over the Merritts Creek. After the bridge, the metal walkway begins, raised a few centimeters above the ground. It leads past the Mt. Kosciuszko Lookout. The track then descends and ascends to an indistinct saddle, descends slightly again, and ascends along the headwaters of the Snowy River to the Lake Cootapatamba Lookout. It is less than a kilometer to Rawson Pass (another track also joins here from Charlotte Pass).
From Rawson Pass a wide gravel track continues with a gentle ascent. It makes a loop from the eastern side of the mountain to the northern and western side before reaching the top. A beautiful view can be enjoyed at the top. Nearby is also the second-highest mountain of mainland Australia, Mount Townsend, 2209 m.
On the way: Eagles Nest (1927m), Merritts Creek (1955m), Mt. Kosciuszko Lookout (2040m), Snowy River (2035m), Lake Cootapatamba (2047m), Rawson Pass (2100m)
