From Kranjska Gora on the road which leads over the mountain pass Vršič we drive towards Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd hairpin turn of the Vršič road we will get to the parking lot below the mountain hut Erjavčeva koča, where we park.
Path description:
From the mountain hut Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču or from the parking lot at the mountain hut we at first carefully cross the main road, and then we continue on a footpath in the direction of Slemenova špica, Mala Mojstrovka via Hanzova path and Dom v Tamarju. Wide and well-beaten, mostly rocky path then at first ascends to the last hairpin turn on Kranjska Gora side, where it turns a little to the right and further relatively steeply ascends. During the ascent the path leads through lanes of dwarf pines and among rare larches. With nice views on Špik group, Škrlatica, Prisojnik, Vršič... we soon reach the crossing, where we join an even more visited path from the mountain pass Vršič.
Here we continue right and past a viewpoint a few meters distant in a few minutes we ascend to the saddle Vratca (1799 m), where there is the next marked crossing.
Left continues secured climbing path to Mala Mojstrovka and unmarked path towards Sleme, straight leads a marked path towards Slemenova špica, and we continue right on a well-beaten, but further unmarked footpath which leads towards Prednje Robičje.
From the saddle, we at first gently ascend over a short grassy slope, and then we get to steeper terrain vegetated with dwarf pines. Higher, the path turns a little to the left and passes into an even more dense lane of dwarf pines, through which runs an occasionally quite overgrown footpath which is all the time easy to follow. A few minutes higher we step on a panoramic ridge of Robičje, from which a really nice view opens up on surrounding mountains. Also on the ridge dwarf pines have branched out in some parts, so that on some spots the path is more overgrown. Such a ridge path, which avoids some harder spots on the left, we then follow all the way to the panoramic and compared to surrounding peaks also less visited peak.
On the way: Vratca (1799m)
