Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču - Prisank / Prisojnik (via Kajzljeva škrbina)

From Kranjska Gora, drive along the road that leads over the Vršič Pass towards Bovec or vice versa. Between the 22nd and 23rd hairpin bends of the Vršič road, you will reach the parking lot below Erjavčeva koča, where you park.

Path description:
From the parking lot next to Erjavčeva koča na Vršiču we head onto the footpath in the direction of Poštarski dom and Prisojnik along Kopiščarjeva pot. The path we are following is initially gentle and grassy, then it crosses a torrent where a stream usually flows, and after the torrent it climbs transversely. We continue along the marked path, which a little further on crosses an old road, and when we reach it for the second time we continue along it to the first right hairpin bend.
From the mentioned hairpin bend we continue straight onto the footpath, which continues to traverse the slopes to the left, from where a nice view opens up towards Ajdovska deklica and the surrounding mountains. After crossing a few smaller gullies the path temporarily climbs more steeply and brings us to a marked junction, where we continue left (right to Poštarski dom na Vršiču).
This is followed by a traverse ascent towards the wall of Prisojnik, and before reaching the wall a path branches off to the right towards the pass between Prisojnik and Sovna glava.
We continue along the mentioned right path (straight on is Kopiščarjeva pot to Prisojnik), which in the continuation traverses under the cliffs of Prisojnik. Higher up, the slope levels out and after another 10 steps we reach a better-trodden path from the Vršič Pass.
From the small saddle we continue left in the direction of Prisojnik (right Sovna glava and Vršič) and continue the path over scree. In the continuation we traverse the slopes on the western side of Prisojnik over the scree. The path ahead climbs a bit more steeply and brings us to a place where the Ridge path to Prisank branches off to the left, while straight ahead continues the path leading to Razor, Pogačnikov dom and Prisank (Prisank - Southern, Slovenian and Jubilee path).

We continue straight, the path becomes less steep and very quickly we are again at a junction. This time we continue left following the signs »Prisojnik (Slovenian path), Kajzljeva škrbina – Zadnji Prisojnik«, right leads the path towards Mlinarica and Razor.

From the junction we then traverse for some time in ascent the increasingly panoramic grassy slopes towards the east and from the right side a poorly trodden path from Mlinarica joins us. A little after that we come to yet another junction.

This time the Slovenian path to Prisojnik branches off left upwards, and we continue straight following the signs »Zvoniki, 2. okno v Zad. Prisojniku«. The path continues to traverse grassy slopes for some time, then our path also turns slightly to the left and starts climbing more steeply. Here a steel cable helps us in a few places. In the continuation the path continues mostly in ascent traversing the slopes on the southern side of Prisojnik and thereby crosses a few short scree fields and gullies. Higher up the slopes we are traversing become even steeper and the path is somewhat exposed in a few places. On the most difficult sections a steel cable helps us. When we reach the eastern side of Zvoniki the path turns slightly to the left and follows an ascent over a rocky slope to Kajzljeva škrbina where a view opens up to the northern side.

At the notch where we join the Jubilee path to Prisank we continue left and move onto the steeper northern slopes. In the continuation there follows some exposed traversing, later we climb steeply and again reach the southern slopes of the mountain. We continue slightly right upwards and soon we join also the Slovenian and ridge paths to Prisank. From here follows only a shorter ascent over the southern slope to the very panoramic summit.
