Access to starting point:
A) From Dravograd we drive in the direction of the border crossing Vič, from which we continue driving to the settlement Labot / Lavamünd, where we turn left towards Celovec / Klagenfurt. The road leads us all the way to the settlement Grebinj / Griffen, where we drive onto the highway A2. We continue driving on the highway all the way to Beljak / Villach, where we head onto the highway A10. After less than 30 km we take the exit, which leads to the settlement Radenthein. In Radenthein we must follow the signs for Kaning. From Kaning we follow the signs for Erlacherhaus. After 10 km on a well-maintained macadam road, we arrive at the mountain hut Erlacherhaus, which is situated at an altitude of 1636 m.
B) From the Gorenjska side we drive through the Karawanks Tunnel and continue on the highway in the direction of Beljak. From here we follow the above description.
Route description:
The path starts at Erlacherhaus, where a signpost directs us to the left on path number 170, direction Großer Rosennock. After half an hour's walk on the macadam road we arrive at a junction. From here we continue straight to Feldhütte, where the path starts to ascend slightly. After a few minutes we arrive at the next signpost, where we turn left across pastures and the entire slope onto the plateau below the summit. On this plateau, the path from the lake Naßbodensee joins us from the right. In front of us there is only the ascent to the summit, which is the most demanding part of the path. On the summit we are rewarded with a beautiful view. To the east in fine weather we see the Austrian Golica / Koralpe, the mountain pasture Svinja / Saualpe; to the west we can see Veliki Klek / Großglockner, and to the south a view opens up on the Slovenian Alps.
For the return path we can choose path number 13, which leads past the lake.

For the gravel road you need to save some coins, the machine at the barrier requires 4 euros...

Passage through the barrier in winter is not possible. On the payment machine there is a notice that the road is closed in winter. I didn't notice the dates from when to when it is closed.
Pi_is_exactly_329. 12. 2018
But have you perhaps tried to pay despite the notice?

The box is covered with a sticker saying the road is closed. I'd have to remove the sticker if I wanted to pay. nasmeh

On Saturday along this path, but continuing past lake Naßbodensee and on to the summit of Predigerstuhl, descent past hut Bockhütte to the starting point. Wonderful circular path!
The machine still requires 4 euros, but to insert them you have to drive right up to it, otherwise it doesn't accept themnasmeh.
