Gabonjin - Sveti Petar (Gabonjin) (by road)

Access to starting point:
From the Rupa - Rijeka / Rijeka motorway or Zagreb - Rijeka / Rijeka, we drive towards Rijeka, from there follow the signs for the island of Krk. When the motorway or the expressway in the last section ends, we descend to the Krk Bridge (toll 35 kuna - March 2014), then continue driving towards the towns of Omišalj, Njivice and Malinska. The road then takes us to the Plodine shopping center, where the first road branches off to the right towards Malinska, but we continue from here to the nearby roundabout, from which we continue driving towards the town of Vrbnik. From the roundabout onwards, the road begins to gradually climb and leads us towards the nearby settlement of Gabonjin. We park some 10 m before the start of the settlement on an arranged parking lot next to the cemetery.

Path description:
From the starting point we briefly continue along the main road, then in the settlement Gabonjin the signs for Vidikovac and the church of St. Peter direct us right onto a somewhat narrower road that continues through the village. During the easy walk through the village we follow the signs, then we soon arrive behind the village where we reach a well-marked junction. We continue ahead towards the church of St. Peter. The narrow asphalt road then leads us under the power line, behind which we soon reach a right bend. At the bend a marked footpath first branches off to the left from the road, just a few steps further an unmarked path. Both paths lead to the church in a few minutes, but we continue along the ascending asphalt road that leads semicircularly towards the top. When the road brings us south of the summit, we are at the next marked junction. This time we continue left and after a minute or two of easy walking we reach the panoramic summit with the church of St. Peter.
