Glashütten - Hochalmhütte (Golica / Koralpe) (past Grünangerhütte)

Access to starting point:
First, we drive to Maribor, then continue driving on the highway towards the border crossing Šentilj and further on the Austrian highway towards Graz. We leave the mentioned highway at the exit for the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz. When we leave the highway at the roundabout, we continue in the direction of the settlement Lipnica / Leibnitz, and further we drive south of the village Gralla, which is today already some kind of peripheral part of Lipnica. Further, the road leads us past the industrial or trading zone, and at the roundabout by the Hofer store we continue "straight" on the second exit in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. Further, we drive for some time on the main road, then after the village Graschach we turn right in the direction of the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg. In the roundabout right next to the settlement Lonč / Deutschlandsberg, we continue "straight" in the direction of the alpine pass Weinebene. From here, the road starts to ascend more steeply, and we follow it for approximately 15 km, then turn left towards the settlement Glashütten. A short descent follows and we arrive at the center of the village, where we park on the parking lot by the Church of the Name of Mary.

Route description:
From the starting point, along the road by which we arrived at the starting point, we return to the first bend, then head onto the marked path in the direction of the Grünangerhütte hut and the Großer Speikkogel peak. Already after a few dozen steps of ascent, we reach a macadam road, which we cross and then continue past a beehive. A light descent follows and we return to the macadam road, then for some time continue directly along the road, later gradually moving away from it in a moderate descent. Lower, over two successive small bridges we cross two streams, then a light transverse ascent to a cart track follows, which we follow briefly to the left, then quickly go right onto the marked path, which continues along a fence, the latter above the Mottl pasture.
A bit more light descent follows, lower we also cross the Höllgraben stream, shortly after reaching the Schwarze Sulm stream, where there is a dilapidated and dangerous bridge, so we go right and begin ascending along the stream upwards. Higher, we return to the macadam road along which we initially walked, and along it over a bridge we cross the stream, on the other side of the bridge we go right and continue the ascent along the poorer and fairly steep macadam road. Later, we bypass a masonry structure on the right side, shortly after from the increasingly poor road we go left onto the marked footpath, which temporarily ascends more steeply. When a few minutes higher we reach two successive roads, we only cross the first, the second we follow to the left and walk along it for some time. We leave the road at the place where the markers lead us slightly right into the forest, where we immediately cross yet another road, the path then slowly turns to the left direction and quickly brings us to the Grünangerhütte hut.
Past the hut we continue right and continue the ascent along the marked footpath. After a few minutes of ascent through sparse forest we arrive at a small junction, where we continue straight in the direction of the path over Steinmandl. A little further we cross a pasture fence, behind it we continue a few minutes of ascent through the forest. When we leave the forest we reach a macadam road, when we reach the road we also leave the marked path, which continues over the road, and with the path we continue along the road, which we follow to the left. A semicircular traverse around the Loskogel peak follows, we walk along the road, which initially descends lightly, when we reach the sunny slopes we begin to ascend lightly. A few more minutes of walking along the road follow and we arrive at the Hochalmhütte hut, which is located on the scenic southern slopes of the Loskogel peak.
